While on ‘Til Death, Don Reo was developing a show with Mitch Hurwitz. The show was to star Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, NY Giants great Michael Strahan and rounding out the cast would be Carl Weathers and the great C. C. H. Pounder. We should have known something was wrong when Carl Weathers shaved his mustache, because it’s commonly known throughout Hollywood, that without his mustache Carl Weathers is 33% weaker.
We did Brothers, the same time we were producing ‘Til Death, as Don Reo convinced Fox to allow him to run two television shows at the same time. While there was a ‘Til Death writer’s room, there was a Brothers writing room, right down the hall. Don hired a few other writers to complete a mini Brothers room and Alyson Fouse and myself would alternate executing stories, that were decided upon in the ‘Til Death Room.
Although the show didn’t catch on with viewers, we had a tremendous amount of fun. I consider Michael & Chill to be great friends and I’ve been trying to get Carl Weathers to grow his mustache back ever since.
